The Universal Port Adapter with Auto-adjusting 10-32 Male Connector provides a zero-dead-volume connection regardless of the mating port depth. It also adapts any 10-32 column or detector port to OPTI-LYNX™ hardware. Set up a simple column-switching rig without the need for expensive high-pressure valves - simply install OPTI-LYNX™ universal port adapters on columns you're getting ready to use, and switch columns quickly and easily (pressure should be allowed to dissipate before column is disconnected).

Pistons are, by design, a consumable part of the HPLC pump and should be replaced on a regular preventative maintenance schedule. To maintain peak performance and avoid unplanned downtime, sapphire pistons require inspection every six months with yearly or as-needed replacement. Optimize sapphire pistons offer optimal concentricity and resistance to wear. Each sapphire rod is specifically cut in relation to the grain of the crystal lattice, yielding maximal resistance to breakage and superior wear characteristics. Attachment of the rod to the piston ferrule is performed through a proprietary process ensuring concentricity. This is an important, often overlooked procedure parameter that has a direct effect on seal lifetime.

The High Pressure Motorized Valve is a three-way valve with two common ports and one controllable port. Opti-Max™ Check Valves are manufactured with ball and seat sets that are individually matched to ensure a lock-and-key fit. This guarantees 3 bubbles per minute or less in the standard nitrogen bubble test. Optimize has also minimized the ball travel distance within the check valve resulting in quicker seating and more accurate pump metering. A single cartridge is interchangeable across multiple pump brands, and will function in either inlet or outlet position. The same replacement cartridge will fit into OPTI-MAX™ housings for pumps made by Waters, Shimadzu, Agilent/HP, and most other OEM solvent delivery systems. This allows you to minimize the number of spare check valve cartridges you keep on hand, and dramatically reduce the cost of inventory required to cover your maintenance needs. This check valve shares the same external dimensions with 1/32" and 1/16" cartridges and fits all OPTI-MAX™ housings except xx-6x-xxxxx.

Optimize Piston Seals are the longest lasting seals on the market. Machined from either of two proprietary polymer blends, UHMW-PE or ITB, Optimize Seals provide the ultimate in high pressure sealing capacity. For mostly aqueous buffered mobile phases, PTFE-based Improved PTFE Blend (ITB) seals are a superior choice for applications with elevated temperatures, high organic content, or when the broadest possible solvent compatibility is required. ITB™ seals tend to be softer than those made from UHMW-PE, making them more forgiving at high pressures where piston side-loading or misalignment may occur. This softer nature also leads to more shedding, but the ITB™ proprietary blend is designed to shed particles that are large enough to be caught at the surface of a standard 2 µm frit, not embed within it.
